Meet Your Agents

Brendan Gilliland

Director, Livestock & Property Agent & Auctioneer

Brendan is a fully licenced stock & station agent with over 14 years’ experience in the livestock industry. Growing up on the Northern Rivers of NSW, Brendan says, “I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to be anything else but a livestock agent.”

Commencing his career in Casino with a private agent he also spent time in the Clarence area which saw Brendan gain grounding and invaluable experience which set the foundations as a dominant young agent. The hunger to expand his client base and further his career saw Brendan make the move to QLD in 2010.

With a passion for marketing livestock Brendan enjoys the day to day challenges of securing maximum returns for his clients through innovative and forward-thinking marketing. Brendan strives to deliver a top result and he prides himself on offering a professional, honest and reliable service to his clients. He works tirelessly for his clients and holds a great rapport with many of the local buyers and processors, which allows for greater marketing options as alternatives to the saleyards.

Brendan was awarded NSW Runner Up at the 2006 Young Auctioneer Competition in Sydney, and was a QLD Finalist in 2011. He is a Level 2 AuctionsPlus Assessor, and is now principal of his own agency – possibly his biggest achievement yet!

Brendan puts this success down to his strong and very loyal clientele. “I never take for granted the trust and responsibility that my clients place in me, I get up each day and want to achieve the very best that I can, making sure no stone is left unturned.”

Brendan has a great love for the Darling Downs, he believes there is a lot of opportunity here for those wanting to strive and go forward. He couldn’t think of a better place to put down roots and raise his young family. Brendan offers his time to support local events conducting charity auctions. Away from the business Brendan spends his time working on the farm alongside Hannah and the kids. He believes that being an agent isn’t just a job but a lifestyle, and one that he is proud to share with his family.

"Our motto within our team is 'we don't want to be the biggest, but we want to offer the best private service to our clients'."

Richard Bumstead

Rural Property & Livestock Agent

Richard is local to the Chinchilla Dalby area, and has worked in the rural industry for the past 30 years. For 24 of those years, Richard was the manager of a large mixed grain and cattle property at Dalby.

Following the sale of this property in 2018, Richard took the opportunity to join the GLM team as a Rural Property & Livestock Agent, keeping him in touch with his commitment to the rural industry and giving him the ability to share his local knowledge.

Richard is committed to working with his clients to achieve the best possible outcomes for them. When his not busy servicing the Dalby area, and west to Wandoan & Taroom, Richard can be found at home on the farm or at Polocrosse where he is a well-known face.

Hannah Gilliland

Residential & Lifestyle Sales

The second half of the Gilliland team, Hannah is proud to work alongside her husband Brendan. “We both dreamt of having our own agency one day and are so glad to get up and go to work each day
under our own banner.”

Always having a keen interest in property, Hannah spent her earlier years working in administration roles in Rural Property Sales and also as a Property Manager where she learnt a lot about the local area, and what it takes to meet the needs of her clients to secure them the perfect property.

Hannah currently oversees the back-end of the business, processing all our livestock sales and property transactions, as well as taking care of the general administration. Hannah is committed to making sure all our clients get the best possible outcome, and ensuring vendors and buyers are kept up to date with each transaction.

Hannah attends the weekly Dalby Cattle Sale where she supports the boys during the sale. “The weekly sale is a great chance to get out of the office and catch up with clients face to face. There is nothing better than being there to see a client get a great result for their cattle.”

When not in the office Hannah loves simply being a mum to the couple’s two young children and working with Brendan in their own cattle enterprise. “I am extremely lucky to go to work every day to a job that I love, in an industry that we are both very passionate about, all while having the flexibility to be there for the kids. We have a great team around us and the future of GLM is definitely looking exciting.”
